Cameron University is recognized as one of the finest higher educational institutions in Oklahoma. It offers students the chance to pursue associate, bachelor, and master degrees in a variety of subjects while enjoying a multitude of social and cultural activities and mixing with a diverse student population. With approximately 5,000 students enrolling each semester, the University's population reflects the city surrounding it with 40% minority enrollment. Among the minorities, 20% are African American, 5% Native American, 7% Hispanic, and 3% Asian/Pacific. In addition, Cameron has 3% of its foreign students gathering from 29 countries and its U.S. students gather from 25 states. With an average age of freshmen being 27, the campus is mainly commuter and non-traditional, but Cameron also has over 250 students who take advantage of on-campus housing.

Cameron Campus Ministry believes it has a role to play in campus life and extends a warm welcome to the diverse population of students attending and faculty serving the University. You may link directly to the University Web Site through the Cameron graphic or Cameron Seal.

History of the Cameron Seal

Cameron SealCameron University's logo was commissioned in November, 1981, by President Don Davis through a contest to find a new logo for the university.

The Office of Information Services conducted the contest and members of the Publications Committee and faculty members in the Cameron Art Department conducted the judging. The logo is used on all university letterhead and envelopes, as well as virtually all university publications.

The winning design was submitted by Richard Brawley and fulfills the role as a logo and as the official university seal. The mountains on the seal represent the three peaks of the Wichita Mountains which are located fifteen miles north of Lawton.
