Cameron University is recognized as one of the finest higher educational institutions in Oklahoma. It offers students the chance to pursue associate, bachelor, and master degrees in a variety of subjects while enjoying a multitude of social and cultural activities and mixing with a diverse student population. With approximately 5,000 students enrolling each semester, the University's population reflects the city surrounding it with 40% minority enrollment. Among the minorities, 20% are African American, 5% Native American, 7% Hispanic, and 3% Asian/Pacific. In addition, Cameron has 3% of its foreign students gathering from 29 countries and its U.S. students gather from 25 states. With an average age of freshmen being 27, the campus is mainly commuter and non-traditional, but Cameron also has over 250 students who take advantage of on-campus housing. Cameron Campus Ministry believes it has a role to play in campus life and extends a warm welcome to the diverse population of students attending and faculty serving the University.
